apricity: [a-PRIS-i-tee] noun
MEANING: the warmth of the sun in the winter
USAGE: As she stood there, shivering and exhausted during the darkest season, the sun rose over the horizon and rays of apricity wrapped around her like a cozy, fleece blanket of love.
SEE ALSO: Hope for caregivers.
Caregivers of medically complex, disabled children are living exhausting, stressful, chaotic lives they never expected to be living. Back and forth between the hospital, therapies and appointments, they live in a constant state of hyper-vigilance, worried about their children and their futures.
The Apricity Hope Project is here to be the light in the darkness, the ray of sun during the coldest chapters for caregivers. Whether you are visiting us at The Hideaway for a meet up or retreat, you are receiving a care(giver) package or hospital go-bag, or you are listening to our podcast – we hope you know you are loved, you are seen and you are not alone.

Thank you to the Hampton Roads Show for this great coverage.
WHAT THEY ARE SAYING:
The amazing thing about AHP is that it isn’t disease specific; we grow our support networks and continue to learn from another. There aren’t other programs like it that love on caregivers. It’s a space to be happy and sad together, and to share the minuscule steps forward that are actually a huge deal to us that other people wouldn’t pause at. We are known, loved and seen from afar even when it’s dark, scary and lonely at home.
