AHP’s Autumn Beach Retreat
The Apricity Hope Project is THRILLED to host our first retreat for mothers of medically complex and/or disabled children.
When? September 21-24, 2023. You will arrive Thursday evening and leave Sunday morning.
Where? At a beach house in Corolla, North Carolina. The closest airport is Norfolk International and it is a 2ish hour drive.
Who? This retreat is for moms who are the primary caregivers of medically complex and/or disabled children with life limiting conditions.
Why? Do we even have to ask why? Because you need a break! Our goal is to provide caregivers hope, restoration and connection to others who are facing similar emotional and physical loads of caregiving.
Who will be speaking? Our AHP Executive Director and When Autumn Comes Podcast hostess, Susan Geoghegan, will be hosting and speaking. But we are thrilled to share that in addition to Susan, we will have Jen Lansink, hostess of the podcast For Our Special Kids, as our keynote speaker.
Will it only be speaking? Glad you asked, because no! While Susan and Jen have a few mini-talks, the sessions planned will be based around group conversations. We will also be doing exercises related to yoga and meditation, art and of course eating and drinking delicious food and wine.
How many people will be attending? Due to the limited number of beds, we plan to have ten guests. Half of the guests will have shared rooms with bunk beds.
How much does it cost? To help keep YOUR costs as low as possible, The Apricity Hope Project is planning on covering a majority of the expenses for this weekend retreat. If you are in a single room it will be $350 per person. If you are in the shared room it will be $250 per person. This will include all of your food, activities, and housing for the weekend. Travel expenses to/from the retreat are not included.
